What defines the value of real estate is transportation. People are social. We work, live, and play with other people. A lot of times we even like to "get away from it all" with other people. That is why the ideal place to live for many is a place where everything of value is within an easy commute, whether that be by car, bike, train, ferry, or foot. If we could get anywhere in the world in 5 minutes, there wouldn't be as much value in the cramped box of an apartment that is commonplace in cities like New York City, or worse yet, Tokyo.
We recognize that our community will be home to people who will live, work, and play outside of Manhattan Harbour to the surrounding areas of Downtown Cincinnati, Uptown (University of Cincinnati, Xavier, and all of the world class hospitals in the region), and our neighbors in Northern Kentucky, to name a few. We also recognize that our community will be home to people who want a choice in how to access the rest of their world.
Besides being able to walk and bike to many of the restaurants, daycares, bars, grocery store, and services in Manhattan Harbour, we recognize that people in our community will want the choice of taking a car out for an hour through services similar to Zipcar (where the car is parked right on the street and you swipe and go). Our community might not want to make monthly car payments for a car they might not even need. We realize that people in our community will embrace a ferry service, complete with donuts and coffee (wireless internet during the commute, anyone?), to beat the early morning rush hour traffic, before hopping on a private car or shuttle to get to work. And we appreciate the ability to rent a boat for a lazy Saturday afternoon with the family at the Manhattan Harbour marina.
